Sr Ida Sala 1922-2014

In 1966-1973 she served as the Principal of Sacred Hear t Canossian College, during the time she initiated many student activities, including the School Newspaper – Concord, and the setting up of the Student Council.
After her retirement as a principal in 1991, Sr Ida continued with her research on the history of the province and was involved in the translation works for the Province and the Institute. Till the end of her life, she kept close contact with past students and teachers of her beloved schools.
We praise and thank the Lord for the precious contribution Sr Ida had made to girls’ education in Hong Kong and to the Institute, and for her edifying examples and faithfulness to her vocation. Her passion for education, her wisdom and her love had inspired many of us. She will live on in our hearts as well as through our deeds.
A requiem mass dedicated to Sr Ida was held at the Sacred Heart Chapel on 29 March 2014. Accompanied by the SHCC choir, we offered our prayers to the Heavens. May Sr Ida rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
