Dear Sacred Heartists,
It is with great sadness and grief that I am writing to let you know that our beloved Sister Ida passed away peacefully on Thursday (March 6) at 12.25pm.
A Funeral mass will be held on Monday (March 10) at 2.30pm in the Sacred Heart Chapel on Caine Road, Hong Kong. It will be followed by burial at St Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Happy Valley, Hong Kong. The obituary is published today (March 8) on Ming Pao and the South China Morning Post.
For those who cannot attend the mass on Monday, another Requiem mass will be organised on March 29 (Saturday) at 10am in the Sacred Heart Chapel on Caine Road, Hong Kong.
Kindly note that donations to the newly setup “Sr Ida Sala Memorial Fund” is appreciated in lieu of flowers, a collection desk and box is to be set up at the Chapel for cash donations. Cheques can also be written to “Canossian Missions”, please specify that it is for “Sr Ida Sala Memorial Fund” on the back of the cheque. The Fund is setup not only for the benefit of SHCC and SMCC, where Sr Ida had groomed a lot of distinguished graduates; it will extend further to all schools in the Canossian family.
Sr Ida has been an inspiration to many of us, I am surely she will be greatly missed. May we pass on Sr Ida’s spirit by donating to this good cause.
