Muse within Cantonese Melodies
Celebration of 42nd anniversary of the Cantonese Opera Club, Sacred Heart Canossian College
This public performance will commemorate the 42nd anniversary of our first Cantonese Opera Club in Hong Kong’s colleges to promote Cantonese Opera. The performance will take place at the Hong Kong Ko Shan Theatre’s New Wing at 7:30 pm on 29 and 30 October 2016. Tickets will be available at URBTIX outlets about one month before the performance and prices range from HK$320, $220 to $120. 50% discount will be offered for Senior Citizens Aged 60 or above and Full-time Students purchasing $220 or $120 tickets. The SHCC Cantonese Opera Club will perform numerous excerpts of traditional Cantonese Opera that were originated and taught by our teachers Ms Li Po Ying and Mr Law Ka Ying. The excerpts include “Fragrant Sacrifice of Princess Changping”, “Shi Xiu Visiting the Village” of Water Margin, “Farewell Jing Ke at Yi River” of The Assassins, “A Romantic Encounter” from Yuanyang Mirror of Southern Song”, Episodes “Welcome Princess” and “Princess wedding” of The Sassy Princess , Episodes “Encounter at The West Lake” and “The Broken Bridge” of The White Snake Legend, “Gift of Qin in the Chrysanthemum Garden”, as well as Episodes “Strolling in the Garden” and “Princess Shuangyang Chases Her Consort” of Di Qing and Princess Shuangyang that were first performed by these two maestros. All the performers are practiced under the tutelage of Mr Law Ka Ying and Mr Liu Xun, the famous master of Beijing opera. Mr Law will also perform in two excerpts, namely “Princess Shuangyang Chases Her Consort” and “A Romantic Encounter”.
The Club is very grateful to Sr Maria Hsu who introduced Cantonese Opera to our college, our great teachers Ms Li Po Ying and Mr Law Ka Ying who trained our members over the years, and the support from Principal Sr Veronica Fok and SHCCAA. 嘉諾撒聖心書院韻軒粵劇組成立四十二週年誌慶
嘉諾撒聖心書院韻軒粵劇組是香港首個書院粵劇組，為傳承粵劇藝術，將於二零一六年十月二十九和三十日一連兩晚下午七時三十分，假座香港紅磡高山劇場新翼舉行成立四十二週年紀念演出。門票約於演出前一個月在城市售票網公開發售，票價分HK＄320，＄220 和＄120，60歲或以上高齡人士及全日制學生購買＄220 和＄120門票設半價優惠，歡迎查詢，請聯絡Yvonne Chan at shcc_opera@yahoo.com.hk.
這次演出劇目，除了大家耳熟能詳的經典名劇與李寶瑩、羅家英兩位老師的開山戲寶之外，還有當年為粵劇組同學新編或改編之折子戲，選演劇目包括【帝女花之香夭】，改編自《水滸傳》之【石秀探莊】，《刺客列傳》之【易水送荊軻】，《南宋鴛鴦鏡》之【焙衣情】，宮幃喜劇【刁蠻宮主之迎鳳、洞房】，民間傳奇【白蛇傳之遊湖、斷橋】，優雅小品【菊圃贈琴】，以及兩位老師的開山戲寶【狄青與雙陽宮主之遊園、追夫】等。今次演出由羅家英老師聯同京劇名宿劉洵老師為粵劇組精心排練，羅老師更將與韻軒同學一同演出【狄青與雙陽宮主之追夫】及【焙衣情】兩齣折子戲。當年許純娟修女把粵劇引進英文書院，多年來羅、李兩位良師的教誨指導，霍慧敏修女及嘉諾撒聖心書院舊生會的鼎力支持，均令粵劇組沒齒難忘。韻軒同學們誠意希望各位校友屆時能撥冗觀賞我們的演出，為傳統的粵劇文化藝術打氣！
